Little trade is questionable because he has a full NMC next year. Also Connor and Laine (especially Connor) are gonna get more than what you have.

Also if Chevy gives Myers a pay-rise he'll have lost his marbles. 6.5 million for a 3rd pairing Dman is too much.

Thanks for the reply!

My logic on the Little trade is that PIT is going to be loosing both Brassard and Sheehan next season to free-agency. Little would be a good addition to their team as a 3rd line C, who can contribute with some secondary scoring and with term on his contract. I think he would be willing to wave his NTC to play on PIT (I would think most players in the league would do the same).

You make a good point about Myers being a 3rd pairing D man this season, $6,500,000 would be a lot to pay for a D that deep down your lineup. However, you are going to have to give him a raise one way or another and you would have to pay Trouba quite a bit more, strictly based on their past negotiations. Spurgeon will be a UFA next year at 30 yrs old, so if he doesn't re-sign, Myers would likely bump up to a top 4 pair role at pretty solid value with the raising of the Cap. In addition, If you look closely at Myers's offensive production and TOI compared to Trouba, there isn't much difference between the two. If anything Myers has a higher amount of production with less TOI and very little PP time. Trouba is younger and could have another step that he could take with his game, but I truly don't see him re-signing WPG at the number that he wanted last season or that he will want next year. Having two D man on your team for around the same value Cap-wise, makes more sense to me. Trading him for solid value would probably be the best strategy for WPG. Now, I'm sure the could probably get greater value trading him in a solo trade, to another team. But WPG needs to free up Cap space, so that's where the Perrault move comes into play.

What are your thoughts? Thanks!
