Canes quick tank

Created by: Shibbal18
Team: 2016-17 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: May 13, 2016
Published: May 13, 2016
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Wisniewski and Hainsey deadline deals, could be whomever needs d depth going into the playoffs, same retained salary. Gaborik and Brown slowly get pushed out of the line up by better talent as the years go on or they are rejuvenated, either way both will probably not finish the contract. Brown at least provides leadership. If Gaborik brings nothing you can bury him. Pittsburgh gets their 3rd line center back and a cheap 4th line guy. Pitt saves a little money in the deal but they will probably also move Fleury too... John Scott signed to make sure they stay above the cap floor, jersey sales, and to reward they guy with one nice pay check before he goes.

Is the first round pick in 2018 really worth having to deal with Brown and Gaborik's cap hit for the next half decade? But I won't deny that the Canes are gonna be loaded with assets in the coming years

The Staal trade makes no cap sense to the Pens....Dupuis is not a cap hit to the Pens or Canes so why trade him? Moulsen no thanks, from the Canes despite the trade picks. Pavel is quite right...over 10m in declining players, awful for any team. The Canes have enough problems drawing a large fan base. These moves would alientate them even more. The goal is win the Stanley Cup, not to tank.

canes aren't winning without a overhaul 5 years of no playoffs will alienate the team just as much. I would be suprised to see a least one of them retire in the next 5 years. Moulson had one bad season. It's a bad contract but their is no proof to say he won't be serviceable and again if he's garbage he probably won't finish his contract. Also that's not how LTIR works. Dupuis will effect their cap
