Kreider is signed for next year as well. Will help with this playoff run which would theoretically make the COL 1st less valuable. COL already has a top 5 overall pick. This trade would help this years and next.

COL really needs a Kevin Hayes... He is everything you guys need as he plays a 200foot and makes everyone around him better. With him being 26 he would fit right into COL core.

The Avs main issue is secondary scoring, but it also has a lot to do with depth. There are players on the team right now (Bourque, O'Connor, Dries) who have no business playing in an NHL game. So while your proposal definitely helps in the secondary scoring department, it's a huge blow to next years depth. We're looking at having five first rounders (Makar, Bowers, Kaut, OTT 1st, COL 1st) competing for roster spots. So while it would be awesome to see a player of Kreider's caliber come in, it's not the right time. Nor am I sure that the value is there, especially if we continue on this skid (our 1st could become far more valuable, especially given the depth in this years draft). This team can compete, but they're still not there yet.
