The only realistic dumps you've got here are the Spooner and Kassian ones. Benning won't fetch more than Spooner, and the odds of the Blues taking Russell while giving up assets during a retool year are very slim. The Bruins aren't taking on $5.5M in dead cap either.

If things were as simple as just fluking into other teams taking Edmonton's crap so they could drop a combined $15M on Stone and Skinner, this team wouldn't be in as dire a situation as it currently is. Things don't work that way however. You've underpaid Stone and Skinner by at least $1M each. Petrovic won't get an NHL contract next season over $1M in AAV either.

Not fixing the goaltending and defence won't result in any realistic movement for Edmonton in the standings next year either.

Forget Stone or Skinner, try signing or trading for a goalie, Talbot and Koskinen are AHL goalies pretending to be NHL.

Our biggest problem right now is depth scoring. Adding Mark Stone and Jeff Skinner would definitely help.
