Mark Stone

Created by: KH44
Team: 2019-20 Calgary Flames
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 16, 2019
Published: Jan. 16, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Based on Kent Wilson's Flames musings on the Athletic, this is just a test to see if Stone could be re-signed next year. The result...its a bit of a stretch, and requires creative accounting. To do it would solidify the Flames as cup contenders for a long time, and once the Stone, Brodie, Hamonic defensive situation cleared up, would free up cap space (2020 lock out compliance buyouts of James Neal, anyone?) to help sort out the problems in the future. It would be worth it, to be honest, but it would be rough. Combine it with the expansion draft, and the Flames may be in some trouble, but you have to maximize this chance!

I seriously hope that those two draft picks are 1st and 2nd rounders. Or else yeeeeesh you're pretty far off if you're planning on acquiring him.

On a side note, I've already picked the Flames as my team to cheer for in the playoffs this year (cause lol Ottawa), so if anyone is to get Stone, I hope it's you guys.

It would be the 2019 first rounder, and then either the 2020 first or the 2020 second. Not trying to rip anyone off, just trying to see how he would fit cap wise.

The picks would be the 2019 first and then either the 2020 first or 2020 second. Not trying to rip Ottawa off, trying to see if there is a point in making an offer if we can't fit him in and re-sign him.

Cal can sign either M.Stone or Duch, IF they get rid of Neal and his 5.75m cap , but can the Flames AFFORD Duch or Stone....Flames problem tho..is in Net, a player like Dzingle would be better for them than a Duch or Stone as he can score 20+ goals and get 40+ points and cost 3-4m less than stone or duch, leaving cash over for a good Tender such as bobrovsky from CBJ.

Dzingle for CAL 1st unprotected, Rasmuss Andersson and Neal (cap dump) would be good for CAL, Dzingle would sign for around 5m per, so less than Neal and is 5 years younger than Neal.

I don't see the Flames giving up a 1st and Andersson for Dzingle...that's too heavy a price.

i guess you are unable to read, Neal is in the deal as a cap dump, it costs a team to dump players for cap reasons. And Dzingle alone is worth a 1st round pick.
