Not screwing up the 29th pick in 2015

Description
hindsight is 20/20 but considering Columbus's desperate need for another good center this would be far more ideal right about now. also worth noting CBJ drafted two more defensemen in Vladislav Gavrikov and Markus Nutivaara in late rounds in 2015, both of which are well ahead of Carlsson on team depth chart.

This is one of only a few picks Jarmo made that I have big problems with, he's made lots of good picks, but the mid to late first rounders he's selected are not panning out as hoped at all.

If it cheers you up former Flames GM is on record of saying they almost drafted Kucherov in the 2011 2nd round but went with defenceman Tyler Wotherspoon instead, Kucherov went one pick after Wotherspoon. Calgary had Gaudreau and Kucherov as wildcards on their list, meaning they could deviate from their list at any moment to take either player, I guess they thought Kuch would have been available in the 3rd round still. Luckily they got Gaudreau in round 4, but what a draft that could have been.

Yeah Feaster really messed that one up in hindsight as Wotherspoon never made it and Kucherov is most likely a hall of famer. Oh well haha

While Carlsson has certainly disappointed, I dont think hes completely done yet. I could see him being a solid bottom pair/decent mid pair guy in the next couple years... that being said, he should absolutely be trade bait rn. Also, Aho would obviously be dope but if we still went with D then I wish it wouldve been Dermott.

It doesn't get any worse than 2005 when Dougie Mac over rode his scouts and took Gilbert Brule when we should have gotten Kopitar. Sigh....

Agreed. I think he’s a good player but the combo of who got picked soon after him along with the fact it seems Gavrikov either has or is close to passing him on the depth chart for next year is putting him into trade bait territory.
