Ducks decline. No reason to move Manson without someone overpaying for him. Top 4 D all signed long term on very good contracts. Downgrading that to add Connor Brown (who ends up as an overpaid 4th liner), would be dumb.

Also think you could get Simmonds for a 1st and a so/so prospect.

Get real would take more then just Brown+Liljegren to get Josh Manson. Either add Kapanen or possibly Nylander to Liljegren. For Bob Murray to even pick up the phone.

May have to sweeten the ducks deal a bit (maybe mid tier pick) but they have a solid/young and emerging d core in Montour, Larsson, Mahura, Lindholm and Fowler. Add Liljgren to that mix in a year or so. Brown is obvy more of a filler, but a capable Swiss Army knife who adds depth and is not going to break to bank of resigned.

As for Simmonds, 1st round pick plus top 9 forward is solid for a guy on an expiring contract. Yes, Johnsson is also on an expiring, but younger and will cost less to resign with some potential upside with more time - he’s only 24 and it’s his 1st full year...
