Not taking on "bad" money. It's half retained. And you don't give up Patrick just to move cap dumps. That's just bad management. Picks just make is messy. It's just huge loss for the Flyers I don't really know how to explain it other than would you give up Tkachuk in order to move Smith and Stone? If not then you'll see what I mean.

And valimaki, czarnik, and mang aren't even in the same category as Patrick. It's the same concept. Watch more of Patrick and you'll see why nobody would give him away just to move two bad contracts that will be off the books in 18 months when the team has $35M in cap space next season. It's stupid.
