Description

Some rapid fire questions after the Muzzin acquisition. Lemme know what you think

Who won the trade?
Toronto. Very close tho. For me it comes down to quality over quantity and the uncertainty of what LA got

Who plays the right side of the Muzzin Rielly pair?
Muzzin. Dont mess with Riellys groove. Muzzin has more expirience on the right side

Do the leafs make another move before the deadline?
No. D is good, Forwards don't need any help.

Who plays 4th line centre once everyone is healthy?
Lindholm. Gauthier is just such a non-threat.

Who gets put on waivers to make room?
Marincin

What number will Muzzin wear?
I’d say 8. He’s only worn 6 since the OHL other than 7 at the World Cup. Can wear 6 on leafs and 8 is similar and available

Although it seems like hainsey will start with Dermott on the 3rd pairing I would put him with Gardiner. Do for him what he did for Rielly. Plus Zaitsev is so questionable (and looked okay with dermott last 2 games)

Since you are trading to win now, LAK is always going to win unless the Leafs win the cup. That's the only way about it.

Toronto won. Late 1st aren't worth much and we have to depth to trade guys like Durzi and Grundstrom. Comparing this to the Hall for Larson trade, we made out like thieves. This is more like the Mcdonaugh trade.

Wait! but if LA doesnt win a cup with Durzi or Grundstrom do the leafs win again?

In all seriousness, Grundstrom is never going to be a 50 point guy, and we have Hyman, Johnsson, Moore, Engvall, Korshkov so he is easily replaced. Durzi is a nice piece, but we do have a decent D prospect pool (Liljegren, Sandin, Rosen). The 1st will be 20-30 but was probably the most valuable piece in the trade. But hey Muzzin is good and you gotta give value to get value.

We could still use a bit of grit (Antoine Roussel type of player)
Still not sold on our fourth line...
