Jackets have not had good luck with Russians so why add one. Giving Panarin and Anderson to one of our biggest competitors in our own division is lunacy to me. Why throw in a 2nd rounder? Jackets doing well building thru the draft and i like our prospects coming up. I’d rather use that pick. Take Josh Anderson out and maybe just go for Kuznetsov. Anderson is a key guy who gives CBJ a lot more than his production shows. He has toughness and grit most of this millennial snowflake roster lacks, and it shows up in the playoffs. I think we need to add a top 6 center but Caps are a bad trade partner to make it happen. Who do you like on Florida or New York?

i mean but you have not had bad luck with russians. They have performed incredibly well, but they just don't want to resign. Kuzy is under contract for a while so thats not a problem. Panarin and wennberg for kuzy just would not be enough value for a number 1 center and if adding a 2nd round pick or other pieces is too rich for CBJ, then yeah the value just wouldnt be there. i do think that the two teams wouldnt trade just because they are in the same division, but i think the value here is equivalent

Kuzy is a glorified assist machine like a better Wennberg. My feeling is CBJ needs more finishers, guys who want to bury the puck in the net. CBJ is good at creating chances and terrible at finishing. So i guess the issue for me is not addressing a real need for CBJ with Kuzy. But also i want guys who want to play here not traded here just because. Don’t get me started recalling the bad years with Anisimov, Tyuitin, and Federov. Value wise i agree Caps wouldn’t say no
