Trades
1.
TOR
  1. 2019 3rd round pick (WSH)
  2. 2020 3rd round pick (WSH)
Additional Details:
The caps need a 3rd liner. Brown is perfect for them, he's a great pker and can score. Being buried on Toronto's 4th line has hurt his value, but they still get a good return. Washington can do this as they get a couple of high round picks for burakovsky
WSH
  1. Brown, Connor
Additional Details:
The deal hurts Toronto's depth, but they can use the assets they get to other players
2.
TOR
  1. Gadjovich, Jonah
  2. Stecher, Troy
Additional Details:
Gives the nucks someone who can be on the pp, and would fit their style much better than the leafs
VAN
  1. Zaitsev, Nikita
  2. 2019 3rd round pick (WSH)
  3. 2020 2nd round pick (TOR)
Additional Details:
Change of scenery for both stetcher and zaitsev, also gives Vancouver more assets, and toronto a future 4th liner winger with some grit
3.
TOR
  1. 2020 6th round pick (STL)
Additional Details:
Toronto resigns Marleau 1 year 1 mill. This is similar to the orpik deal.
OTT
  1. Marleau, Patrick
  2. Sparks, Garret
  3. 2020 3rd round pick (WSH)
  4. 2020 7th round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Buys out Marleau, his cap hit is still high, although he isn't being paid much. This helps Ottawa with getting to the cap without paying any real money and getting more assets, while toronto saves much needed money

For this to happen Marleau would have to be traded and bought out prior to the new league year so Ottawa would still be on the hook for 4.5M in real money and that's a no go for Ottawa.

check buyouts outside of the regular period. It's still possible. ex. Troy Brouwer was bought out on Aug 2 last year.

Special circumstance if an arbitration award puts them over the cap and that with Ottawa is about as unlikely as pigs flying.

Any thoughts on the trades value wise?

Yeah now that I looked into it, it's unlikely. However, his cap hit will still be 6.25, and real money is only 4.5 so ottawa can get to the floor without paying as much as is required (if that makes any sense). Since obviously Ottawa wants to pay as little money as possible. Even if you can't do it with Ottawa, you could look at a team like montreal(they did this with Mason) or any other teams with large amount of cap space who would trade money for assets.

Hey yeah I mean the Brown trade is possible and it's good enough value though they'd probably look for a 2nd for him.

Would love that Zaitsev trade to happen though I don't think Vancouver would go for that deal.
