I like the concept but you have to ask yourself. Do these trades give the Habs a significant chance at advancing in the playoffs? Even one round? Does the difference between kulak and Gunnarsson and Boyle and Chaput give the Habs enough "extra" to beat a teams like TB or T.O or Washington?

IMO no its doesn't. Not saying we can't still beat them but would these guys make any difference really? If so its a very small amount and we'd more than likely do it regardless of them. I say, stay focused on the future completely. Keep the picks and go with the guys who got you here. They've earned that right. Guys like Chaput and Kulak deserve their spots in the lineup and given that this year was supposed to not be a very good year, anything in the playoffs is gravy for us fans.

IMO its either you go all in or you don't. No half measures. Gallagher was a 5th rounder. Markov was a 6th rounder. Those picks will probably end up being nothing but they just might be if we're lucky. Boyle and Gunnarasson are definitely not winning the Habs any playoff games. I say keep the picks and go with what you got. (Or trade player vs player like Hudon for Boyle for example if anything)

I agree. For Hudon I presume that he ask for a NHL chance so it's ok. The 5th and the 6th are the maximum future that I would let go.

I like who you’re trying to get but we’d have to give up probably double what you’re offering. Hudon isn’t a saught after asset.. and Brett Lernout could maybe play on your top pairing in the AHL... maybe... so turn those picks in to 3rds and add a decent prospect in. I’m not sure berg is down
