"What if" Edmonton were to trade McDavid-plus for those three? The whole city should burn Rogers Place to the ground.

"What if" Draisaitl was traded for Turbo? That would be labeled a lateral move that does nothing for the Oil now that McDavid is gone. Plus, Teravainen would likely drown himself in the North Saskatchewan River since he's now in Edmonton, so the Oil loses that trade too.

A McDavid trade should involve at least three first round picks coming back to help build for the future. Acquiring those three guys you proposed would be great for the Oil, but as McDavid is currently experiencing, there's not a lot of team depth. THis helps it, but you still have major problems that the picks can help alleviate.
