Description

Rumors are out there that Vegas is pursuing either Mark Stone, Matt Duchene (or both!). This trade gives them roster and cap space plus additional draft capital and a RHD prospect to make it work.

Haula is a play for next year, Canes can stash him on IR this year. Can slot into any position in the top 9 next year. Also furthers the Canes Finnish connections.

Nosek has great possession metrics, and can also be an asset in the face off circle. Hed be a perfect fit in Carolina on the 4th line.

The way he’s played since coming up. It’s hard to justify making Saku a scratch. Don’t know that nosek will bring much (if any) more than you’re getting

The thing is Nosek has a history of playing center and taking face offs at a high success rate as well. He could play center with Saku or wing with McKegg. Additionally, if Staal does come back soon (practiced today) - this provides even more roster flexibility.

Honestly - canes have been lucky with health this year. They are pretty thin for depth.
