Description
IMO this team just needs to add scoring to be a top contender... sorry bout stealing JT :)

Wingers Options:

Artemi Panarin - Costly but could be worth it especially if they team can make a deep run and give him a reason to re-sign

Mark Stone - a 200ft. player who can score... um yes please

Wayne Simmonds - Could be somewhat cost effective while providing offense and grit which is very important in the playoffs, would be best to add along with another piece like a centre.

Micheal Ferland - very similar to Wayne Simmonds might be a cheaper option who could be a long term acquisition as well being only 26, again would need another centre or offensive piece aswell to really add to the team.

Gustav Nyquist - more of a playmaker but could still be a viable option, but they really need a goal scorer.

Chris Kreider - He could be the best fit as well as he might be interested in re-signing since he probably wouldn't have to move very far if at all, but New York might ask for a lot being.

Ryan Dzingel - Might be over perfoming this year but probably wouldn't cost very much.

Jonathan Huberdeau - the youngest play here with 4 years left on a very manageable 5.9m cap hit. Would cost a lot but he is probably the safest bet, might be more of an off season acquisition though.

Bradon Saad - This guy really needs a change of scenery, if he can find his form from a few years ago he could add good 2nd line scoring, he has 2 year left @ 6m which is little rich even for his 50pt days but he's still only 26, high risk IMO but still worth a look

Mike Hoffman - IMO if you're going to Florida just get Huberdeau.

Centre Options:

Duchene - Ottawa would probably comand a pretty penny for him, but they have the money to re-sign him next year, high risk high reward investment.

Kevin Hayes - Would probably be relatively cheap but would require another player coming in to really increase offense IMO.

Jeff Carter - SHOOT ME NOW

Eric Staal - Might not cost much, isn't scoring like he was the past 2 years but he is a veteran who has won it all before and might be the best option for what he would cost, and also allow you to go after panarin/stone/duchene, etc. in the off season.

Decision:

Cost effective Method - buy low now hoping to get Duchene.

I really think this team gives them a good chance this year, without taking away from current roster.
Trades
1.
NYI
  1. Staal, Eric
Additional Details:
I would assume he would waive.
MIN
  1. Dal Colle, Michael
  2. 2019 2nd round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
I think this should be enough or very close to it. Might have to go higher depending on the interest of other teams. The addition of Dal Colle could be really good for Minny since they could probably give him a shot in their line-up during the final weeks of the year to see if he can find his form, and if not you still get a 2nd.
2.
NYI
  1. Huberdeau, Jonathan
Additional Details:
Conditional pick; if both players are resigned NYI get a 4th round pick.
FLA
  1. Beauvillier, Anthony
  2. Ho-Sang, Joshua
  3. 2019 1st round pick (NYI)
Additional Details:
The Islanders seriously screwed the pooch when it came to Beauvillier, he can no longer be sent down in season and this guy seriously needs time in the AHL. Hopefully he can spend some time on the roster in florida to end the year and get sent down in the off season to work on his game in the A. Josh Ho-sang is in a different position, should finish the season in the A and then possibly come up to the big club, as well as a fresh start. Again might need more to get Huberdeau but i think if they get him now they face less competition and this should be enough.

Stall apparently purposely modeled his NTC for playoff teams so he wouldn’t be dealt at the deadline, but I’d have to assume the Isles aren’t on that because nobody saw this season coming. They could likely get him on the low

I would assume lou would have a conversation with him, because i would be worried about him not reporting.
