Ya fair, maybe we just keep sammy then and use the pick.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hammerwise</b></div><div>Not horribly off, but maybe all a tad light from TOR....
But really, I dont see a better team, and you are acquiring a cap nightmare with hellebuyck, hayton hitting UFA/RFA with Matthews, Nylander, Brodie, Giordano, Lafferty, McMann and Liljegren. You'd be able to keep some, but wouldn;t have enough money for QUALITY replacements.</div></div>

You realize that last year the leafs sent mrazek to chicago with a 1rst but got back a second right? literally a drop/rise of 13 spots. so ya a 3rd and a 7th is realistic when you literally don't give up anything.

That's a lot of contracts that need to be resigned next season; Pesce, Necas, Matthews, and Nylander will all get pay raises. I like the general idea but I don't think it works overall. Maybe if you don't take on Garland, but I don't see Carolina making that trade tbh.

Ya, it's probably an over pay but it's more about the idea rather than the price.

I'm not the GM but it was just a couple ideas and probably likely what you need to sign them. Also bertuzzi is basically bunting but better.

Like Sammy got injured which was something big, Knies missed time but i mean if he was still here, he could have helped a little bit and lastly the refs. The icing was the reason why the goal really happened and also the Brodie penalty.</div></div>
Well clearly things aren't working they don't have enough secondary scoring or tough enough players to drive the middle of the ice. This solves both issues imo. Also i resigned Sammy and the issue definitely wasn't the goaltending.

I don't believe he is a cap dump, he is still a decent goalie, he's just had a rough time in Toronto.

Would you take Holl or Liljegren?

IMO stone is getting at least 9M+. He's a player who can score 30 goals, he's been to the cup final and he is good defensively teams will pay an arm and a leg for him.

Dark Horse Year 2
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>joshelkin</b></div><div>I liked your first post a lot but you've lost me here. Lee won't accept a deal that low of dollars and term. I think the minimum we would be able to agree upon is $6M x 5 and even that's wishful thinking. Secondly, how are we paying Barzal $10M+, Pulock $4-5M and Toews $1-2M bridge come next season? Nobody is taking on Ladd/Boychuk IMO and that still wouldn't be enough cash if we somehow got rid of both</div></div>
I'm not a NYI fan so not too knowledgeable about your team, I think to afford those players you need to get rid of Ladd, Cizikas, and Clutterbuck who are all on too rich deals, aswell as losing martin will give 2.5 mill. It's gonna be hard but if it can be done i think the team is looking good for a few years, considering you would gain best case 14.85m. maybe you don't go after stone then and instead go for someone else, like a jeff skinner if he makes it to free agency, who might command 7-8 maybe (really hard to judge with him). Also 6m is too rich for anders lee, i think the most he can get is 5.5.

Nah, Liljegren is gonna be a longer project than people expect, I think he needs at least this year and next in the Marlies if not another year after that.

How Id fix the canucks
Boeser and Nylander are very comparable to each other so a 1 for 1 would make sense, and Petterson hasn't done anything in the NHL yet so I don't see how a 1 for 1 swap for either of these 2 wouldn't work.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Severed</b></div><div>Well your offer sheet for Shore wouldn't be for just one 1st.. it would be for 2 1sts a 2nd and a 3rd.. all of which have to be your own pick not any other team's picks you might have. And why would you give up basically: O'Reilly, Beaulieu, the 1st pick in the 2nd round and Baptiste and a 1st, when O'Reilly alone to the right team could easly net you a 1st, 2nd, a Roster Player and one or two prospects (we aren't talking about elite players here).. i know O'Reilly "hasn't done much here" (Three 55+ point seasons) and i wouldn't be oppose to trading him, but the return has to be right, and the Sabres could fetch a high price for him.
A Calgary trade for O'Reilly might be more like: O'Reilly and McCabe for a 1st 2nd, and Brodie and then why trade Brodie? WE NEED DEFENSEMEN</div></div>
It's 8mill over 3 years, and yet you buffalo fans never cease to amaze me because 2.75m x 3 years is 8.25m. Both of you just wow. Also half these trades make no sense.
