I mean what you have a good framework for Kreider without Horton. If you want to add Horton....it's going to cost you more.

I think I should have actually looked to the rangers to take Zaitsev. You maybe right that it takes a touch more sweetener to make happen, but I think it's close.

I switched it to be Zaitsev, I think it's more realistic they'd take a player they can use. I built this around the parameters of the Tampa deal for McD last year. And I think I've already sweetened it enough to take a contract back.

Yeah that makes it worse because of the contract length and that Zaitsev is legitimately terrible. We'd have to take back more then. Also McD was a rental, Kreider has a year of control on one of the better contracts in the league.

McD wasn't a rental, he had another year remaining when traded. I can understand not wanting to take back one of those contacts, but I think I'm already on the verge of a big overpay. This is likely where the deal would fall apart.

Kreider playing at least 60 games with 22 games left in reg season and avg about 24 games if Toronto wins the cup =46 games so i guess Rangers will never have a shot at that 1st right? lol
