Unpopular opinion but i think they should send hart down for the phantoms playoff run meanwhile talbot and elliot battle it out for the backup job next year. We would get Ho-Sang (who has his issues) for simmer but i think he would play really well with patrick. I think Gudas should be traded and let myers or one of the younger d men play and get some experience. Toronto gets a solid defensive d man for the play off run (if not suspended for being dumb lol) Raffl should just be traded wherever for whatever return to free up room for younger forwards to get some experience. I think Goulbourne will be a solid bottom 6 guy meanwhile vecchione, vorbyov, or aube kubel could come up and experience. This would leave the flyers with plenty of picks in the upcoming draft and plenty of room to maneuver up or down.. Unfortunately i think we are stuck with the macdonald contract but at 5 million with the cap going up i do not think it will be a huge albatross moving forward.

Couple points
1) I think chuck buys Amac out in the summer as we have too many defenseman that are coming up next year. Also his ice time is going down as the season is going along.

2) The flyers can send Hart down on paper during the trade deadline. This allows him to play in the NHL to gain big league experience and he can play in the AHL playoffs. If they do this (and I'm sure they will) then...

3) they will trade Elliot to a playoff team for depth.

4) also just a minor thing but I think the islanders would have to add to the trade cause as you said Ho-sang is a lottery pick

Yes, Ho-Sang for Simmons straight up will not work. The Isles certainly need to add to this.

Adding to the above...
I think we should trade Raffl to the Isles and maybe add a 4th to get Ho-Sang. Raffl can play almost anywhere in the lineup and would be a solid addition to their team. This way we get to try and pick up a 1st or a 2nd plus a decent prospect for Simmer.
