Simple Fix

Description
Put Riikola back in the line up and finally call up Prow. College player usually transition well so its about time he gets some NHL action now that he's playing his 3rd year in the AHL. He's been great in all the leagues he's played and was even in the AHL all star game. He's ready.

Pettersson has been given top line minutes before and its not like he couldnt keep himself together.

Dumoulin is out long term with a concussion. And Letang and Maatta are out shorter term most likely.

I still think the focus should be to get rid of salary for next season like johnson, hornqvist, pearson and bjugstad. Acquiring a forward should be our main focus i think, a centre and a winger. But actual decent ones like hayes, panarin, or stone.

GMJR said he wouldnt want to trade his 2019 1st. But he might if its someone young. Well Panarin or Stone are only 26 and we'd likely not even draft someone that good like that and we're in win now mode, no time to wait for that 1st to develop.

I think if we do go after a defenseman it should be Jared Spurgeon. Minnesota said they are willing to trade anyone on their team. And i think hes the best defenseman on the trade market.

We are not contenders this year at the moment. we need to get younger. selling futures would not be wise

@planter5

This is basically just to show that they need at least two more forward pieces in my opinion to be a championship contender. And maybe a defense is needed, worth doing if its spurgeon but otherwise if its not then they can go the simple fix route.

We definetly would be with this roster. Its amazing what a few pieces can do. Or even just simple hot streaks and cild streaks like kessels goal drought or honqvust finaly ending his point drought last night. The blues went from last in the league to being a contender with no significant moves but thats rare. We need to go after someone like stone. We're not bad enough to talk about selling.

if Letang/dumo are out long term it won't matter if we add Mcdavid, we still wont make the playoffs with a top 4 of: JJ-schultz, MP-Ruhwedel. I get you added Spurgeon but there's 0 chance Rutherford could pull off two TDL blockbusters.
if pens were smart we'd sell kessel for a haul of young players to extend the Crosby era. im okay with missing the playoffs in a deep draft
