I agree Gardiner is better, but Dermott moving up and hainsey moving down also has to be considered here. We also gain a D for future years as Gardiner is walking 100 percent. Miller is 10x better than Zaitsev though.

Miller had one good year last year. You know my take, so many fans all RHDs on any team are better than any Leaf Dman. Miller get PP that skews his stats, he's average at best playing defence. I like Rosen, next year. not too parachute in taking Gardiner's spot now.

I don't think Miller is a Norris Dman or anything, but at 3.45 he'd be a solid second pair especially as a RD. Compared to Zaitsev his possession and zone exit stats are far superior and I see that as a huge problem with our right side. I think getting Dermott more minutes would only be positive for us, don't think Rosen would have a problem holding down 3rd pair minutes either. BTW miller had absolutely unreal underlying numbers when he was on the 3rd pair in Boston too, just lower minutes
