Description

2 acquisitions that would add grit to the maple leafs to protect their young guys. I know the trade with MTL is in their division but Shaw brings more scoring than a Matt Martin or Ryan Reaves.

Doubt if the the Leafs to or can afford 3.9m Shaw next year. Grit, shouldn't be confused with NHL competence. Grit? Being down 3 goals Saturday and beating Montreal. So tell me just by that game, what team had grit?

Agree, adding someone who can stand up for the boys would be good, but not at the cost of downgrading skill. Ferland and Simmonds make a whole lot more sense (At the right cost obviously) but having a player who can punch people is only good if he's also helping you win.
