Description
If we could get rid of Rask, which is probably not likely, Pavelski would be a really nice add this summer. Right handed center for Parise, 36 goals this year. We'd continue to be old up the middle, but if we didn't overpay for him I wouldn't mind it at all. 3 year deal more likely

I'm glad somebody else is on the Pavelski hype train. Russo has said he is not happy that San Jose hasn't offered him an extension yet. He'd be a great middle 6 addition if we could sign him for a short deal with decent cap such as the one you have. My only concern would be where Koivu fits in once he's healthy. There isn't much room for him on the roster unless we move Eriksson Ek, which probably isn't smart.

Alternatively, I've been hopping on the Erik Karlsson hype train as well. He'd be expensive, but our D core would be among the best in the league with him and we could move Spurgeon for a nice return. I think Karlsson paired with Brodin would be fantastic, especially since Karlsson seems to wear down on the top pairing.

Edit: as for Rask, I'm not sure anybody wants him to be honest. Maybe Ottawa would so they can hit the cap floor, but they probably aren't going to give up much for him.

Im a fan of Pavelski. I dont think he would ever want to come to the Canes frown Also, I think he would be asking for more than 5 mil.

True it really depends on Koivu... maybe Pavelski plays wing then? Tough to tell. I could totally see Pavelski play here though.

Karlsson would be awesome but you know every team will be after him this summer.

Yeah I think you are right. Marleau got 6m.

Same, he's a 'Sconnie boy so the Wild would probably be an appealing destination. I think wing is an option for him if we moved Zucker and put Fiala or Donato at LW.

Yep he'll be a hot ticket, but we'll have tons of cap space if we really want him. Other than Panarin (who definitely isn't signing here), Karlsson and Pavelski are the only two bigger names I hope we go after.
