2016-17 Roster

Created by: CaptainFlynnt
Team: 2016-17 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: May 31, 2016
Published: Jun. 1, 2016
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If the cap stays flat and bergevin wants to add a top 6, either eller or desharnais will likely have to go. I'd rather choose size in this situation since montreal already has small players like byron andrighetto and gallagher.

Perron is less of an effective playmaker but has slightly better possession stats, plus he would come in 1.5M/yr cheaper. That's sizeable money you'll need in next offseason to give due raises to Galchenyuk and Beaulieu.

Okposo is a 60 point plus player while perron is a 40 point player. I'd pay 1.5 more for the better player. I agree they need to find cap space for galchenyuk and bealieau .. approximately 6.5 - 7 million raises max for both of them I'd say. Markov and parenteau's buy out off the books is 7 million and I'd like to assume the cap will increase.. if it doesn't I'd trade Eller and give his role to either danault or mccarron.

Every team needs a punching bag. Browns a great guy to have in the room. 2 years is no big deal he could be sent down to the ahl anytime. Who would you rather have as a 14th forward?
