Wow, thats a full list of guys you are signing who are not going to be anywhere on the major league roster. I don't know anything about a bunch of them and so will not comment on that part.

The main pieces:

1. TRADING CONNOR BROWN
I recognize you needed to trade Brown for little or no value. I think he is more valuable on the roster then the savings you will get from moving him. If you do get him I think a 2nd or 3rd rounder is reasonable and I think your choice of the Oilers is probably a team that would want him.

2. SIGNING MARNER
No brainer and I actually think your contract at just under 10 for 8 years is the right number but is lower then he will actually get. I think he is about to be demand more then 10 and they will paid a premium rather then force the issue.

3. SIGNING RFA's
Johnsson and Kapanen I think your numbers and the term are really close to what will happen. The rest of them I don't care about.

4. SIGNING UFA's
I like the Ennis signing and think it is reasonable. I agree that Hainsey might be looked at if Zaitsev is moved but think the likelyhood of that is small.

5. TRADING ZAITSEV
He definitely is on too much term and for too much money but I think you are not recognizing what he does provide. He has successfully played 2nd pairing right defence and killed penalties for us. He plays 17-19 minutes a night and I personally would rather have him then another season of Hainsey. I say play Dermott with Reilly, Play Muzzin and Zaitsev 2nd pair and Hall plus Ozi or Rosen on 3rd pairing.

6. SANDIN AND LILEGREN
Not ready, if they are then it is a bonus. You have to make plans for them to spend another year or be called up part way through the season.
