-I would think ANA would like to hold onto their pick; seems like they are heading towards a rebuild and are waiting for their vets' contracts to expire.
-However, they have a surplus of forwards, and have a hole at RHD since the Montour trade. I think Smith for Eaves would make a ton of sense for both teams.
-I think they would pass on Ferland if they retain Kreider (who I think they should extend) and Lemieux. You also do not want to spend up to the cap limit with nobody coming off; you will not be able to afford anyone else on the roster going forward.
-Lastly, I think Shattenkirk gets a lot of heat that is not necessarily warranted. Look at his Corsi For % and Fenwick For %, he was leading the team in both as of a few days ago. Something to think about.

That garbage doesn't net you Jacob Trouba, He will come home to Detroit before he signs with the NYR. His brother works for the Red Wings organization and pretty much said that Jacob is coming home.
