Chicago accept, but MTL will NEVER do that. If they trade Drouin, its for a guy like Gostisbehere

CHI accepts in a heartbeat. Gustafsson is overachieving BIG TIME right now

I would never sign Duchene. MTL has a great locker room, great spirit. He left COL and they started winning; arrived in OTT and they stopped winning. Left OTT and they started winning; arrived in CLB and they stopped winning. Not a great leader.

Gardiner would be a waste as well. There is Brook and Romanov about 1-2 years away, costing much less, and the price tag for Gardiner would put pressure on the team in 2 years when they need to re-sign a bunch of guys.

If Duchene makes it to the SCF do you reconsider?

Honestly, maybe a little bit. And it's true, people do change, and he might have realized that he wasn't a kid anymore and taken on leadership a bit more seriously. That being said, personally, even if he were to win the Stanley Cup, I wouldn't want him on my team. Skills is one thing, and he has plenty. But from my vantage point, he knows VERY WELL that he's playing for a contract. So, if I was the GM - and I'm not hehe - I would go elsewhere.
