3-4 OA MIN TOR

Created by: LittleBuddha
Team: 2019-20 Colorado Avalanche
Initial Creation Date: Mar. 30, 2019
Published: Apr. 4, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
MIN Trade was taken from a MIN - NJD trade post. Wanted to see how it worked for one with the Avs.

After Hughes/Kakko, the talent level drops, great players but not NHL ready elite. The Avs drop 8ish slots taking Alex Newhook (MIN) and Spencer Knight (COL) in the 1st round. Both to NCAA/Boston next year.

TOR - just another attempt - idea - combination... Everyone wants a sign and trade. Not going to happen. If the Avs re-sign him (which I hope the do), it will be for themselves. A conditional 2020 COL 2nd could be added if he don't sign.

Varly is going to get a severe pay cut on his next contract with his injury history and inconsistent play. So he can take it somewhere else or he can stay here and take it.

I don't think Kadri is on the same level (value-wise) as Barrie. Then you have Zaitsev for Kamenev. Toronto is going to have to take a loss on value for Z because of his contract and Kamenev still has decent potential. Even though Barrie only has a year left, I don't think the value matches up in this trade. Same with the Zucker trade. He'd be an awesome addition but teams like potential when it comes to their 1st round picks. If you're trading 3rd or 4th overall, it's gotta be a sweet package. Avs might offer like bowers, Kamenev, and a 2nd for him

Poster of the Zucker trade here, I'd do that with the Avs. It would probably only work if the Avs had the 4th overall pick and the Wild had the 10th.

The Avs are getting a 1st back though which as of now is pick 12 and could be 10 by the end of the season if we lose out and don't win any lottery picks. So it's the 10th overall pick and Zucker for the 4th overall pick. There will still be some great players by pick 10.

I guess it depends on if the Avs really like a guy who could be available at 10. But personally I'd rather keep the pick

I understand completely. There will be a great player available at 4 if you don't win any lottery picks.

I would agree with Adam, if I am the Avs, i dont make that Kadri trade. I too believe Barries value > Kadris Value and Zaitsev (with that awful contract) isnt worth the potential of Kamanev (even with his injuries). Personally i wouldnt mind Kadri on the Avs lineup.
