Canadiens accept. Frolik is an easy 30 point guy, Hudon is a season long healthy scratch, and a 4th is a decent prospect. Unlike what his caphit suggests, Frolik makes an average of 3.5M over the next two years (his contract expires in 2020) which isn't too bad for a 30 point player. He could fit into the roster well instead of Deslauriers.

That’s not a good deal for Calgary. Monahan is locked up for another 4 years and can produce the same amount as point at only 6mil. Why would you want to trade him, one of your better D prospects, your 2nd best dman, AND a 1st round pick for:

A player who will get $8.5m+ when you can get similar production from Monahan for much cheaper, and a somewhat overpaid winger?

Calgary does not benefit at all from this. You are literally just getting on your knees and helping Tampa for absolutely no reason.

Also, where’s Kapanen? You signed him for 3mil and he’s nowhere on your team
