Like the factor of bringing up Kostin by why trade Ivan Barbashev, that trade would not go through.

The Blues have a n 18-1-1 record when a healthy Schenn-ROR-Tarasenko line plays. Why break that up? Barbashev is a good 4th line center who is young and has improved each year. Why dump him early for a guy who has given signs that he's not serious about hockey? Seems too much like a similar "Let's give up too early on a Rod Brind'Amour" type of trade. Young guy who went on to have a very solid career. Barbs plays like he could have a solid career too. Burakovsky is a nice player, but I question his desire.
