Description
This is a win/win for both teams. I'm not as high on Nylander as some and probably higher on him than some, but this trade would definitely help both squads. What says you?

Trades
1.
MIN
  1. Frolík, Michael
  2. 2019 1st round pick (CGY)
Additional Details:
Calgary can be any team with the highest and best offer. Zucker simply has to go because of the 16,000 left wings the Wild have amassed...
CGY
  1. Zucker, Jason
Additional Details:
I would consider taking James Neal here if he had one year less on his current deal, but 4 more years isn't gonna happen.
2.
MIN
  1. Nylander, William
  2. Zaitsev, Nikita
Additional Details:
As the very astute @Palhal said previously, this would be like Spurgeon and Kapanen for Nylander and Zaitzev trade since this would allow the Leafs to keep Kapanen.
TOR
  1. Spurgeon, Jared ($2,550,000 retained)
  2. 2019 3rd round pick (MIN)
Additional Details:
The Wild get younger, faster, and a right-shot, playmaking forward to feed their plethora of left-shot fowards. Zaitzev would make a nice shutdown pairing with Brodin.

Not so fast.... if we had to trade kappy we would get something in return. 5 years of nylander is not worth 1 year of spurgeon, even with the retained salary. I am very high on spurgeon but he is not 5 nylanders better than zaitsev. Conditional 2020 1st, if spurgeon re signs or leafs win the cup it is a 2020 3rd.

To me that seems quite fair. If spurgeon walks and leafs do not win a cup we have nothing to show for nylander. The first can be top 5 protected but I doubt the wild would be that high in the draft.

One other note on the Calgary trade is that they do have a strong left side. Might not be the best trade partner.

I could probably live with that. Make a Leafs roster with that trade so we get more Leafs fans involved.

That's why I said, "Calgary can be any team..." Calgary wanted Zucker at the deadline, so it's possible. Zucker can play on the right too.

My bad, didn’t read your trade note. I would be very excited to see spurgeon come to Toronto, it’s too bad it’s at this point in his career. If we were able to re sign him on a 4 year deal for less than 7m this trade would be well worth it. Personally I think we should have made a deal before deadline with the wild rather than for muzzin but at the time you were competing for a spot and I believe dumbs was just getting back into the lineup.
