the difference between first and second pick is overrated especially this year.

Absolutely no reason to do this. The Rangers are actually in the better situation at #2. The pressure is on Jersey to pick the right guy. The "leftover" guy will then just fall in the Rangers lap. No reason to give up so many assets when you're already in the better position.

Their is very little difference between Hughes and Kakko, they’re neck and neck. Not necessary to make this trade...

That is the kind of trade that it will take to get the number 1 pick. Oilers don’t have the cap space so rangers would need to retain salary or take a contract back.
