Salary Cap Mode: Basic

1. Keeping pavs is a must. You can see that he is heart and soul of the team. I dont worry about the term because of what he brings off the ice. He is worth 8+ right now, but the term allows them to give him 10+8+7+5+3, front loaded, and an accurate salary for his production and age.

2. I think they keep EK. he wants ore than doughty. I tink other teams will be hesitant with the injuries and cannot offer the 8th year. Keeping him, even for 11M (or 11.1 so he beats doughty) may be risky, but it gives a massive upside. you gotta go for it!

3. donkey can go. nyquist can go. MK is too expensive for his role. and if they keep EK65, they will likely have to drop salary, so braun and Dell are the easiest ways to do that without hurting.

4. Meier will do a 2 yr, 10M bridge. If he rocks it like he did this year for two more, he'll still be 24 and get massive payday. Labanc is in a similar spot. He really upped his game of late, so a 2 yr 6M bridge makes sense for him. If he solidifies the two way game and rocks it, he'll be 25 and get the big payday too. makes sense for both sides.

5. The rest of the roster fills in with rooks/Depth FA signings/ European recruits. I figure Gambrell looks likely to play as does chekhovich, the way he looked in preseason, in the Q and in the A. Dougie likes to keep a spot or two open for competition, so I'm sure a few grads will get a look. Blichfeld might too.

6. lastly, this keeps roughly 1.5M in free cap space which translates to nearly 6M by the deadline. This is some flexibility that dougie always looks to do...
