I was worried that Boston fans would come in here saying he is worth more than Kreider alone. I wouldn’t do that deal either tbh. I’ll put out a revised version of this later

Yeah I wouldn't deal Kreider for Carlo 1for1 much less add any stuff. For Kreider, if you're going to trade him, model it after the Pacioretty deal.

Boston wouldnt do that either, i dont blame you for not knowing how good carlo really is (doesnt put up numbers) but he is a great shut down D, reminds me of Hjalmarsson

The deal you just put there is more than enough to get Pesce or Ghost Bear and plenty others who are far better players. You're grossly devaluing your own assets.

But you also have to watch out for defensive defensemen. Defense is largely a byproduct of team strategy and scheme. It's the reason why bottom pair guys like Steven Kampfer and John Moore look half way decent in Boston. I mean the numbers are there:

It's not magic. It's good coaching. Cassidy knows defense. It's also why you shouldn't take claims that Carlo is a budding "shutdown dman" at face value. It's largely a product of the system he's in. If he was in let's say Vancouver, you think he's even in the NHL? lol

its def interesting, the Bruins will have their top 2 RD locked up (mcavoy and carlo) for a long time in the offseason, not sure they want to lose that for a rental

I forgot to mention it in this one, but Kreider is from MA so he will definitely sign an extension at a discount

yea potentially. i dont think the value is too far off, just the Bruins wouldnt want to trade a top 4 RHD without getting one in return (sorry but pionk isnt that, I live in NY so i watch a bunch of ranger games and hes just all over the place in the D zone)
