Big moves

Created by: BellChes100
Team: 2019-20 Toronto Maple Leafs
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 23, 2019
Published: Apr. 24, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I know this is pretty unrealistic but here the leafs embrace their offensive talent and add to it, adding pastrnak and point, as well as sergachev on the defensive end. They dump a lot of cap and lose Kadri, gardiner, gauthier and brown but stock up on picks that they trade for a high first, which Tampa accepts over a classic offer sheet for point. They add cirelli and dahlen as depth moves for now but both are young and will be regulars soon. The leafs are incredibly top heavy but still have great depth with kapanen, Johnsson, and cirelli all in bottom six roles despite their skill. They have a very young yet very skilled defense in a boom or bust situation where their third most experienced dman is Travis dermott, but liljegren and sandin have the skill to make it and so does Rosen. This team could be insane or just great, but no matter what I think anyone would take a team like this any day.

Why would sjs do this? If they wanted Marleu, they wouldn't let him sign with Leafs 2 years ago

Teams are not going out of there way to help the poor Toronto Maple Leafs.

Obviously this isn't serious. The Tampa trade is ridiculous....

Brayden point for a 2020 first rounder???? Are you high? Would you trade Matthews for a 2020 first rounder?

The lighting can’t afford point, so he could either be offer sheeted (which won’t happen) or they can trade him. They can’t take on any cap so an offer of a top 5 draft pick would be hard to resist as it will make them stay good for a longer time.

They get gardiner, a very good dman for just a second and decent prospect, while taking a 2 mil cap hit for two years.

Brayden point would cost you a lot more than the 5th overall. You have no way of guaranteeing that will be a top 5 pick either. Also when a team has no cap space they trade away older overpriced players. They don’t trade away the best young players to division opponents while getting screwed. If you want point that’s fine but offer something reasonable
