some hard decisions

Created by: flatimir
Team: 2019-20 San Jose Sharks
Initial Creation Date: Apr. 24, 2019
Published: Apr. 24, 2019
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Palmieri trade would make sense for both teams because labanc probably gets a new contract around 6.
This is not affordable for sj, so nj gets a younger player but sj gets a player with a great cap hit.

Tell me what you think.

First thing that jumps out to me is the 3rd line center spot. I really hope we're not in a situation where 23 is our 3C or we're in trouble. I'd rather put the money we spent on DSP towards a real 3rd line center. If Thornton doesn't retire, he's our answer i think.
Also, I'm hopeful we can re-sign Labanc for closer to $5 mil per and thus, not have to make a trade like that. Although if push came to shove I think it's a fair swap.
Not sure Meier will make that much either, given Hertl's contract.
I definitely agree with shedding Dell, M. Karlsson, and Braun.

Plenty of veteran bottom six guys that can be had for under 1.5M. I dont see a scenario where Pavelski and EK both come back unless you move Dillon also
