If the jets trade Trouba it will be to the rangers or redwings where he will sign a deal and maximize their return.

Edmonton gave up hall to get larsson, I doubt they give him up for so little.

My thoughts here are that they need a top 2 centre bad, Kadri can play that role better than anyone the Jets have. I don't think they will bring everyone back on their end. Zaitsev gives them a cost controlled right shot D for a while which I think they would like if they have to lose Trouba.

In my mind it's not Canada that Trouba doesn't want to play in... it's Winnipeg. I would assume he would be happy to go play with his American buddy Matthews in big ol' Toronto. Maybe I am biased as a fan.

I don't see much on the Rangers or Red Wings roster that would be a ton better than getting a top 2 centre and a right shot cost controlled D along with a higher pick.

My thoughts on Edmonton are that they have some young D coming up, especially Bouchard, and they want to clear a bit of cap space and a roster spot for them. This does both and addresses their need on the wing and reunites McDavid with junior teammate Connor Brown. It also gives them a decent prospect winger in Timashov, Lindgren to fill in a depth role, and a high pick.

laugh laugh Trouba wants no part of Canada, Did you see Trouba with the Tigers cap on? Those pieces don't get you Trouba any ways. And zero chance he'd ever sign long term with Toronto. He hated the Leafs as a Diehard Red Wings Fan And if Datsyuk comes back to the NHL it's Detroit only and no one else.

FYI the salary cap for the 2019/2020 NHL season will be $83 million not $85 million both Bettman and Daley already said as such.
