Might have to sweeten the deal a little for Zucker (but its close).
Hayes deal isnt bad but no thanks to Donskoi (especially on line #1)
Also move Jost and Compher up to line 3, Nieto and Calvert down to line 4.

Wild Fans I talked to about it were open to a 1-for-1 with either Jost or #16, sans sweetener.

Donskoi would be a really nice lowkey pick up that shouldn't cost a fortune in FA. Talented kid who has been buried behind SJ's vets & fell into their doghouse after an extended goal-drought. Not saying he's a legit first liner, but he's a capable top 6er...who should be perfectly adequate next to MacKinnon, especially with Zucker flying around with MacK, and him filling that spot would let us load up the Mikko line with both Landy & Hayes; to really put teams into a pick-your-poison situation with our forwards.

I wanted to put the Longbeach-Soda-Calvert line...which put in such a yeoman's effort earlier in the season...back together & stick the bottom 6 kids together on a skilled 4th line; which is why Jimmothy, Kam & Jost are all on the same unit. Plus Nieto doesn't deserve to bumped down, he's been tremendous & is probably our 2nd best defensive forward atm...would be 3rd best with the addition of Hayes.

Compher >> Nieto, Calvert - hes a more complete player than both these guys; he shouldn't be on the 4th line

With the puck Jimmothy is unquestionably better -- which is why I want him with Jost & Kamenev on a bottom 6 line, if it makes you feel better call that the 3rd line & the soda one the 4th line *shrug* -- but longbeach is better defensively.

And Calvert isn't any more complete than is Nieto, both have 4th line hands but excel against the puck, with speed to spare & tenacity.

In my mind we go grab Skinner and resign Wilson (IF the price is right):

Landeskog - MacKinnon - Kerfoot - no change here
Skinner - Soderberg - Rantanen - only change is grabbing Skinner at LW (Avs need/can afford a big scorer)
Wilson - Jost - Compher - Wilson is a quality 3rd line guy (experience/physical/can score) ; Jost gets 3rd line minutes with talented wingers; Compher 2way guy with skill
Nieto - Kamanev - Calvert - solid quality wingers to "shield" Kamanev as he learns.

On D:
Girard - EJ - offensively skilled skating puck mover with a physical stay at home type
Zadorov - Barrie - physical stay at home type guy with a offensively skilled skating puck mover
Cole - Makar - physical stay at home type guy with a offensively skilled skating puck mover

^ super balanced pairs top to bottom.

Even if Joe could talk Skinner into coming west, I'd hope he's not that complacent. Soda can't be our 2C next season...and Kamenev needs some skill to work with, he's already proven he can defend very well in the NHL, now we need to see him not break & show off his skill at this level as well.

As for the pairings, why mess with a good thing? Keep limiting Cole & EJ's even strength PT by pairing them together, and let our better blueliners see more of the ice.
