Description

Can see/kind of expect NYR to trade Namestnikov at the draft too but did not know to who/what a return would look like. If they hold onto him, he’d be on a rotation with the young centers if they are struggling. Also is a vet in the lineup that can compete for playing time if others aren’t producing

Strome is already on a retained salary contract which means if he’s traded his salary can’t be retained again

1. He is not on retained salary contract, Rangers retained salary on Spooner, Edmonton did not retain salary on Strome.
2. Even if he was on a retained salary contract, he would still be eligible for rangers to retain salary in a trade. A contract is eligible for 2 retained salary transactions.
