Ok first off the trade, Oilers do not want Edler now or anytime in the future period as they have excellent depth for LH defensman. Your expecting to draft a defensman in the first round of the 2018 draft and step in 4 months later and be on your top pairing? Good luck with that. Even with this team, your nowhere near contenders. Playoffs maybe, but not cup contenders.

oilers believe they can go far soon they need depth. That's why it says 2018+ depending on how this pick develops. That team can contend easily I dont know what your talking about
