Jet's easily match a $6 million OS on Jacob Trouba, Realistically it would probably need to be in the $9 million range for Chevy to pause and take the picks. And we all know that Jacob isn't worth more then $7 million per long term.

Even if they wanted to they couldn't. Despite Laine having an off year, He's going to be getting a hefty raise. Probably in the 7 million range. With that, they wouldn't have the cap space to match it. Combine that with other RFAs getting raises such as Kyle Connor. They could feasibly trade away players to afford him, but why would they when Trouba basically said that he would never play in Winnipeg again. It just doesn't make sense to make trades to match the offer on a player that doesn't even want to play in Winnipeg.
