Assuming Marleau says Yes to this trade, TOR will have to replace that 3rd with at least AJ or KK and CHI will give you 4th back.
OTT trade is good

That Ottawa trade is a bit off in value, but I like the idea of the center swap. Especially if we plan on drafting Turcotte, we can get Pageau for a year then open the spot for him.

I didn't want to take on another Player from Toronto because the Hawks will have to pay deBrincat, Strome and Kahun next year. Then I think Kubalik could also make the cut into the Roster next Season. And potentially Kurashev in 2020/21 too. But Toronto has to pay if the Hawks take on the contract of Marleau.



I thought about the value, but I checked the stats and despite the age, Anisimov had better stats and the better plus/minus. Okay, Pageau had to play in Ottawa and only 29 Games last year, but point-wise he would just be a little better than Anisimov. And his contract runs out next year, so there's space in the Line-up for Turcotte and there's the money to sign deBrincat and Strome.

Ottawa is going to want picks and prospects for Pageau though. He won’t command very much, and they may take Anisimov back, but maybe throw in Chad Krys and a 4th instead.

I like this idea, however if OTT wanted to get rid of Pageau they would have done it at TDL.

More likely to trade him this deadline, he’s more of a rental now that his contract is ending
