I think you're going to have to either bury Staal (which seems unlikely) or just eat it until the contracts up. Buying out the contract now seems unreasonable, so he might just end up being a very expensive 7th D/bottom pairing guy

I put him on the bench. Him and Claesson can rotate in I’m the third pair. He’s a very expensive third pairing d man but the org is not gonna wanna buy him out or trade him until prolly next year when he has 1 yr left...

Got it, I saw him listed as scratched but I wasn't sure what the salary implications were.
