Putting way to much faith in Vesey and Vatrano to replace the offense that Marchand brought.

That Anaheim trade may be the worst I have seen in a long time. Clayton stoner? For your top scoring forward and a top 4 defense at 50% retained?

I think he meant to add in Lindholms rights.

Still you're making a hole to fill another.

not really, I have a ton of confidance both Vesey and Marchand end up with 20 something goals next year.

A lot of confidence in a kid (who hasn't signed here) and hasn't played an NHL game yet. I like Vesey too, but let's hold off on those types expectations for him. Marchand just put up 37. He's good for at least 25-30+ goals a year. I don't understand why people are so willing to move the only guy on the team that can score. Marchand is an untouchable.

He put up an inflated total. He scored the most luck goals hes ever had in a season, then add in the 5 empty net goals and you have a lot of casual fans believeing hes better than he actually is. He's totally tradeable and especially so if he wants more than Bergeron. Burgy is the Alpha of that line while Marchy is a complimentary player teams don't plan for.

this was simply a way to illustrate how to fix the cluster* that is the Bruins D. If you want elite talent (Lindholm) you've got to give up something that isn't junk. While I think this is too aggressive for the Bruins FO to pursue, and I agree, I'd be surprised if the moved Marchand, you have a highly mobile D with a legit #1, a number 3, 4 and 5.

This also leaves the Bruins with 5.6M in cap space - they could also retain 1M on Stoner and trade him to get another 2.2M in cap - so they could chase an Okposo, retain Eriksson, etc.

Anaheim and Winnipeg both have internal salary caps that they must work around. Especially if Winnipeg wants to extend Trouba long-term, and bring back Andrew Ladd - they need to free up cap space to enable them to do so. Anaheim as a plethora of young D, but they need to clear cap space to retain people and/or bring others in.

I do expect Vatrano and Pastrnak to have around 50 goals total. Vesey, I'm pretty confidant he will sign, but I wouldn't expect more than 35 points in a rookie year, we'll see. Long time to wait to sign him (8/15). There's an outside chance Danton Heinen could make the club, too.

I doubt that's the 4th line, but just plugging guys in to take up roster spots/fill cap voids.

I don't expect others to like it. It's a) incomplete and b) simply an illustration of a more mobile, better, D.
