As mentioned to me by Oilers fans in my last couple of posts they need the Nuge to have a chance at having a good 2nd line in the future. I get that they need a 1RD and Shayne fits that but they NEED THE NUGE for offence!

For Spurgeon, it would have to be this year's 1st rounder. You can throw in Gudas in the deal too.

I changed the trade, is this a better offer? If so, can that team contend?

As a Wild fan, I would make that trade - although I'm sure many would be very hesitant. Spurgeon is an absolute fan favorite in Minnesota...but the Wild simply need to get younger. I would probably push for Phillipe Myers to be a part of the return, but would settle for this... The ONLY issue I have with this deal is that the draft seems to fall off quite a bit around the 10th pick, so this deal would have to be contingent on who was still available at 11.

Thanks for the feedback, I understand Spurgeon's worth better now.

Curious, why Elliott for 3 years with a raise? Guys is probably the best option for Harts backup but he is 34 years old and injury prone.

Just a reach, you're probably right.
