I think NJD really needs a franchise C though

NJD needs more talent. period.

I think they got a lot of winger talent, thats why I say go with a Center. Hughes-Hischier-Zacha/Mcleod pretty legit group moving forward. Then they just need to develop their D and a legit Goalie over the next 3 years, theyll have a dynasty

Zacha at the moment has only proven to be a solidified 3rd line center, ultimately replacing Zajac. Mcleod should have been able to make the jump to the NHL by now so it worries me a bit on his development, but he could just be a late bloomer. NJD is also majority an undersized team. The proposition of Kakko, rather than Hughes, also adds more size to their lineup.

I think it is very unlikely they go for Kakko - a great player but not considered as dynamic as Hughes. Also, the Devils do not need another 2nd round pick this draft. Neither Schneider or Vatanen are worth a 1st round pick currently, forget Brodie. And while I understand how Jake Allen became expendable for St. Louis, I'm not sure he's the right guy to bring in if you are hoping to turn Blackwood into your eventual full time starter.
