Trading Lucic for Eriksson is a lateral mone at best and likley a downgrade as he provides zero toughness. His cap hit is the same but only 1 year less. Holland will have to be more creative to move Lucic.

Lucic's toughness was useless last year, he threw a lot of hits but he wasn't noticeable. I can't think of a reason someone would take him unless your taking a large contract back. At least Eriksson can score more than 10 goals.

I think you're underestimating the one year less part.

Lucic has 1 year extra on his contract, he also has to be protected in the expansion draft.
