This is how i see us looking as well, if Panarin gets too pricey we probily just go with skinner. While panarin would be worth the money i don't like us only having 3 mil to spare with girard barrie jost makar landy and grubes coming off in the next 2 years and all looking for raises i'm sure.

True but the beauty of this is in those 2 years we also lose the $14M of Soderberg, Calvert, Nieto and Cole combined so it's not dreadful. EJ or Barrie definitely move in the next 2/3 years also as I can't see them rolling with both at the cap hits they have so that will be another $5/6M. Avs are in a very healthy spot and can afford to spend big on a FA talent this year aswell as inking Rantanen long term. The one thing they can't do is go crazy and start offering stupid money to the RFAs like Compher and Kerfoot. Jost has this season to prove he is the #2C they need or he will be replaced by whichever C we draft this year.

Yeah, and it will be nice to have a little cap break there from those guys. i don't see us bringing in cole and sodes but i could see us bringing back nieto and calvert for a short couple years if they continue how they played in playoffs, they were solid in the bottom 6. I like having compher but it wouldn't break my heart to see kerfoot moved. I am also thinking it is kind of a proving ground for jost on a contract year here. I hope he can continue his play from after his ahl stint and his playoffs were solid as well. Either way its a good time to be an avs fan
