I don't really see the point of the LA trade. Foligno isn't a world-beater, but I thought he has been an awesome addition to our bottom 6. He's also not afraid to say it how it is and not beat around the bush, and with our toxic locker room I think we need more guys like him. It'd be nice to get rid of Pateryn, but if he's on the team next year I wouldn't mind. He looked great on the 3rd pairing and was serviceable on the 2nd for brief stints.

I'd say if we're moving Spurgeon, I wouldn't take anything less than a young top 6 right shot player. There's a lot of picks in that deal which is nice but the players we're getting are pretty lackluster other than Miller (who is a lot worse than Spurgeon).

If that's what it costs to get rid of Rask then I say just keep him and either bury him in Iowa (nobody will take him off waivers), have him as a healthy scratch, or as our 4C and then buy him out next offseason. It's not ideal, but I'd rather have the picks than the $4M in space to overspend on a free agent.

Neither Foligno or Pateryn are on bad contracts. They might be slightly overpaid, but they certainly don't qualify as being on bad contracts.

The Vegas trade is just putrid! However, with how Fenton manages assets, it could very well happen...
