Deal from Ottawa

That was the one I was a little lost on, is Calgary overpaying? Or is DeMelo that good? I've heard good things but wasn't really sure.

Hes been solid, hes a little soft on the puck sometimes but can definitely make the 1st pass and doesnt turn it over a lot. He was Ottawa's leader in +/- before they traded everyone.

I agree Demelo is good value and an upgrade on Stone, but I don't really want to dump Kylington for a little cap room and a minor upgrade. I think Wood would be a great fit but I would want a little more than that for Brodie.

I think the Ottawa deal is an over payment from Calgary's perspective. Kylington just had a pretty comparable 1st season in the NHL to DeMelo's first and had better AHL numbers as well. I don't think we would have to pay so much to remove Stone's contract. If we move Kylington it is hopefully to get back a forward worth protecting in the expansion draft.
