You're probably the third one today make that exact offer (well some of them offered a 2nd more). That is pathetic. 2nd liner, 3rd pair D and middle pick won't get you a TOP5 sniper. WPG will never do a deal like that.

If I’m being honest kotkaniemi or poehling have to be included before the jets even blink.

Winnipeg might not have a choice if Laine wants out and said hed be open to accepting an offer sheet. They won’t get a better offer for a guy who just had a questionnable year and clearly would rather be traded right now. 15th overall in this draft, a third overall playmaker whos only 24 and a first round RHD thats making the jump to the NHL this year. Im willing to bet Cheveldayoff would consider it

Fun fact: Laine would have to accept the deal first, and if he were to leave the Jets and go to a weaker team, the offer must be:
a) clearly better than what he'd get from the Jets
b) high enough for Jets to not be able to match it

Basically, if anyone wants to take Laine via offer sheet, it's gonna cost 4 firsts. And 4 firsts definitely have more value than that offer you put up.

Let's be honest, Jets fans. Every GM in the league knows that you'll be trading Laine or Connor this summer. If not, it's because you're literally giving away probably three of Wheeler, Ehlers, Little, Perreault and Byfuglien. If you keep the kids, you're literally giving away players in their prime. If you trade Laine and/or Connor, you're sacrificing present day for the future. Welcome to the new NHL.

Bro the only one who has to go is Trouba. The rest can be figure out. No way we give up Connor, Ehlers, laine especially.

This is the most misguided take of all time.

This rumour is probably my favourite... Laine's agent says the one thing that every high profile player's agent says...'We will explore all options'... "OMG LAINE WANTS OUT OF WINNIPEG... WE'RE GETTING HIM FOR NOTHING!!"

He's not likely going anywhere.

The mistake was Wheeler. Way too much money for five more years on his contract. He might have been the leading scorer this year -- at 32 -- but he's nowhere near the best player on the team. But the Jets have 10% of their cap locked up in him and will for the next 5 years.

Trouba isn't the problem and the end result is you further imbalance a team that is already front heavy. But, hey, have fun. That team should be better than a first-round crash and burn. I hope they find a way.

The mistakes were Little, Perreault, and Kulikov... And to a lesser extent, Byfuglien. I'm happy paying that money for a 90 point Blake Wheeler.

Their cap situation is not nearly as bad as people think. 2 years, Buff's $7.6 comes off the books. They have a top 10 C locked in at a hair over $6 for the next half decade... and Ehlers at $6 for 6 more years. If they can get rid of a few of their overvalued players (Little, Perreault, Kulikov) They're in fine shape. So, we will have fun continuing to be near the top of the NHL for the next 6 or 7 years, at least... thanks.
